homo sapiens / human

Here is a selection of photographs of the species that I myself belong to.

People are normally regarded as the opposite to nature, and it is typical for nature photographers to avoid them as a subject. Being a nature photographer, too, I normally do not photograph people. However, since Homo sapiens — the Human — is also an animal, more precisely, a mammal species, I make sometimes an exception. Even though modern cities are its natural habitat, too, the human remained morphologically, anatomically and physiologically much like it was in late Pleistocene. Some populations of humans still live like hundreds of thousands years ago. I am not interested in anthropology or ethnography. What is impressing me, is seeing representatives of my own species living close to the rest of the nature — like in that distant past. On this page, I am collecting their images.
